Japanese Embassy Holds Ceremony for Emergency Rehabilitation of Sindhuli Road Affected by Floods

Kathmandu: The Embassy of Japan held a groundbreaking ceremony for the emergency rehabilitation of Sindhuli Road affected by floods on May 25. The ceremony was held in the presence of Gopal Prasad Sigdel, Secretary of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, and Ambassador Maeda Toru.

Following the grant assistance of JPY 2.8 billion (equivalent to 2.6 billion Nepalese Rupees) signed in October 2025, the restoration work officially commences today. This year marks the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Nepal, and Japan remains committed to supporting Nepal’s recovery and sustainable development.
