Kathmandu Hosts Discourse on Ashok Silwal’s EVEREST at Lekhan Kunja

Kathmandu: A discourse on Ashok Silwal’s book EVEREST was held at Lekhan Kunja, Thapagaun, bringing together readers and literary enthusiasts to reflect on the themes and narratives of the work, December 28.

Unlike a conventional book launch, the event focused on discussion rather than ceremony. Speakers highlighted that EVEREST is not merely about a mountain but about unfinished journeys, of friendship, family, regret, humor, and personal struggle, woven through multiple characters and experiences.

The discourse reflected the layered nature of the book, with participants sharing insights into the writer’s process, perspectives, and the themes embedded in the narrative. Unscripted moments and candid exchanges added to the authenticity of the program.

Participants left with a sense that EVEREST is a journey that begins not at the summit, but with the opening of its pages, engaging readers on both personal and emotional levels.
