KIMFF Hosts Special Screening Celebrating 70 Years of Nepal-China Ties

Kathmandu: In celebration of 70 years of diplomatic relations between Nepal and China, the Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival (KIMFF) hosted a special screening titled “Xizang Panorama” on May 29, featuring a lineup of six documentaries focused on climate change and wildlife conservation.

The next day, on May 30, a Press Meet and Greet was organized with a visiting Chinese film delegation, where five KIMFF’s special screened documentaries were shown, including Days and Nights in Xizang, Snow Leopard and Friends, Where the Mighty Rivers Begin, Wild Wonders in Xizang, and Youthful Xizang.

Held for the first time in Nepal, the screening showcased collaborative efforts with China’s Youth Women Team, who live in the high altitudes of the Tibet Plateau.

“We have collaborated with China’s Youth Women Team living in the high altitudes on the Tibet Plateau and shown even the wild animals surrounding those areas in order to protect them. So we have screened such various films and documentaries based of them,” shared one of the filmmakers from the Xizang Panorama Team.
