Korean Ambassador Visits Returnee Workers’ Dairy Entrepreneurship Site

Kathmandu: Park Tae-Young, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Nepal, visited a dairy production facility established by Nepali returnee workers who gained technical skills while working in Korea.

According to the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Nepal, the visit highlighted the growing role of returnee migrant workers in entrepreneurship and local economic development.

The embassy, in collaboration with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the Employment Permit System Center (EPS Center), is supporting the entrepreneurship and reintegration of returnee workers through initiatives such as the K-HaMi project.

Officials said the initiative aims to help returnee migrants contribute to Nepal–Korea economic cooperation and Nepal’s sustainable development.

During the visit, the embassy also promoted the “HaMi” mobile application, designed for Nepali migrant workers. The app, which stands for Happy Migration, provides useful information and support services for migrants and is available in English and Nepali on both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
