MCC Deputy VP Meets Nepal’s Forest and Environment Minister

Kathmandu: John Wingle, Deputy Vice President of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) overseeing operations in Europe, Asia, the Pacific, and Latin America, met Minister for Forest and Environment Ain Bahadur Shahi Thakuri at the Ministry today.

Minister Shahi thanked the US government for its continued support to Nepal’s development and praised MCC’s role in building high-quality transmission lines, upgrading highways, and improving connectivity. He said the project has boosted bilateral relations, strengthened mutual trust, and facilitated both domestic electricity supply and power trade with India, with hopes of linking Nepal’s electricity to the rest of Asia.
