Kathmandu: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Physical Infrastructure and Transport, and Urban Development Kulman Ghising met with India’s Minister for Power Manohar Lal Khattar in New Delhi on October 29.
Minister Ghising, who is in India to attend the 8th General Assembly of the International Solar Alliance (ISA), held discussions with his Indian counterpart at the Ministry of Power.
The meeting focused on enhancing energy cooperation between Nepal and India, including electricity trade, the expansion of cross-border transmission lines, the progress of hydropower projects under construction with Indian investment, and ways to strengthen a long-term energy partnership between the two countries.
Present at the meeting were Nepal’s Ambassador to India Shankar Prasad Sharma, India’s Power Secretary Pankaj Agrawal, Additional Secretary at the Ministry of External Affairs, and Joint Secretary at Nepal’s Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Sagar Raj Gautam, among others.
