Kathmandu: Minister of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Physical Infrastructure and Transport and Urban Development, Kulman Ghising, held a courtesy meeting with Swiss Ambassador to Nepal, Daniel Meuli, at the Ministry in Singha Durbar.
Ambassador Meuli congratulated Minister Ghising on his appointment and extended best wishes for his tenure. The meeting discussed the status of ongoing Swiss-supported projects, prospects for short- and long-term cooperation, and opportunities for Swiss investment in Nepal.
Minister Ghising thanked the Swiss government for its continuous support in Nepal’s development. He emphasized government priorities, including rebuilding public infrastructure, promoting good governance, encouraging the use of electricity in households, expanding electric vehicles, adopting Swiss tunnel technology in road transport, promoting green hydrogen energy, and generating employment through small industries and skill development programs.
Ambassador Meuli reaffirmed Switzerland’s readiness to continue supporting Nepal, particularly in energy, infrastructure, and technical cooperation.
