Kathmandu: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), in collaboration with the Federation of Export Entrepreneurs Nepal (FEEN), organized a virtual interactive discussion programme with Heads of Nepali Missions abroad on ‘Export Promotion of Nepal’ on May 21.
The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Shisir Khanal, addressed the event and directed the Heads of Missions to prioritise and implement their programmes and activities focused on economic diplomacy, one of the major pillars of Nepal’s foreign policy, for trade and export promotion of Nepal.
Member of the House of Representatives, Ganesh Parajuli, stressed the urgent need for undertaking both technical and practical measures for making the export of Nepali products simple, easier and obstacle-free. He emphasised the active role of Nepali Missions on promoting Nepali goods and export trade.
FEEN Senior Vice President, Dev Anand Sarawagi, made a comprehensive presentation on “Role of Diplomatic Missions on Export Promotion.” The President of the FEEN, Govinda Prasad Ghimire, highlighted various aspects of trade and export promotion of Nepal, including problems, challenges and the way forward.
Foreign Secretary, Amrit Rai, underscored the necessity of further strengthening economic diplomacy and export promotion of Nepal through active involvement of Nepali Missions abroad with focused and concerted actions.
Senior MoFA officials, Board Members from FEEN, Ambassadors and Head of Nepali Missions abroad were present at the programme.
