Kathmandu: The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Nepal celebrated the 35th Anniversary of the Day of German Unity and 67 years of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Germany at the Ambassador’s residence in Gyaneshwor. The event was hosted by Ambassador Udo Eugen Volz and Marianne Beck-Volz, with Ram Sahay Yadav attending as the special guest.

In his remarks, Ambassador Volz highlighted Germany’s long-standing partnership with Nepal, noting that Germany has supported Nepal during key moments, including the civil conflict, the 2015 earthquake, the COVID-19 pandemic, and ongoing democratic reforms.

The celebration also marked 51 years of GIZ, 62 years of KfW, and 18 years of PTB’s cooperation in Nepal. These institutions under German Development Cooperation have played an important role in supporting Nepal through technical assistance, financial cooperation, and quality infrastructure development, strengthening bilateral ties and promoting sustainable growth.
