Nepal Celebrates Constitution Day 2025

Kathmandu: The Constitution Day 2025 is being celebrated today with several programs across the country.

President Ramchandra Paudel attended the main function of the day held at the Army Pavilion, Tundikhel, in Kathmandu at 8:30 am. On the occasion, the newly appointed Prime Minister of the Interim Government, Sushila Karki, addressed the ceremony. In view of the recent adverse political circumstances, traditional events such as processions and parades were not featured in this year’s celebrations.

The Constitution of Nepal was proclaimed on 3rd Asoj 2072 (20 September 2015) through the epoch-making Constituent Assembly, formed on the foundation of the arduous struggle and sacrifices of the Nepali people. The Constitution of Nepal 2072 was promulgated following the second round of elections to the Constituent Assembly, after relentless efforts and prolonged disputes.

It may be recalled that the then President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav had announced the promulgation of the Constitution of Nepal from the Constituent Assembly meeting hall at the International Conference Centre in New Baneshwor on the evening of 3rd Asoj 2072 BS.
