Kathmandu: The Consulate General of Nepal in Guangzhou hosted a community empowerment programme titled “Empowering Nepali Community with Immigration Policies, Business Practices and Legal Awareness in China” on January 8, 2026, at the Landmark International Hotel in Guangzhou.
The programme brought together Nepali entrepreneurs, professionals, students and community members, along with officials and experts from China.
The programme began with a welcome address by Consul General of Nepal in Guangzhou, Bharat Khanal, who highlighted the importance of awareness on immigration rules, business practices and legal compliance for the growth and well-being of the Nepali community in China.
Technical sessions featured presentations by Chinese experts and a Nepali business leader. Wu Wei, First-level Police Sergeant from the Exit-Entry Administration Corps, briefed participants on immigration regulations, while Lili Mo, senior lawyer at WANG JING & GH Law Firm, discussed immigration policies and compliance requirements. Nirmal Sharma Chaulagain, Member of NRNA-ICC, shared insights on business practices in China, including marketing, branding and networking, drawing on success stories of Nepali entrepreneurs.
The final presentation was delivered by Dou Yonggang, Attorney-at-law from Talmud & Company, who explained the rights and obligations of foreign residents, legal procedures and contractual practices. The programme concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session followed by a networking dinner, providing a platform for dialogue, learning and community engagement.
