Kathmandu: Nepal has been elected Chair of the First Committee (Disarmament and International Security) for the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). This achievement reflects Nepal’s more than 70 years of steadfast commitment to multilateralism, international peace, security, and global disarmament efforts.
Expressing his gratitude to all Member States for their trust and support, Ambassador Lok Bahadur Thapa, permanent representative of Nepal to the United Nations, reaffirmed his commitment to carrying out this important responsibility with impartiality, transparency, and inclusiveness.
