Nepal-Germany Bilateral G2G Negotiations Held in Kathmandu

Kathmandu: Nepal and Germany held Bilateral Government-to-Government (G2G) negotiations between Nepal and Germany in Kathmandu from June 16 to June 17. The G2G negotiations are a formal bilateral process held every two years through which both countries jointly define development cooperation priorities and agree on the allocation of financial support aligned with Nepal’s national development priorities.

The Nepali-German G2G cooperation ensures the following, among others:

  1. Health investments that reach vulnerable populations through safer hospitals, better maternal and childcare services, and stronger health insurance systems.
  2. Energy investments that reach communities via clean cooking, solar irrigation for farmers, and municipal energy plans developed in partnership with local citizens.
  3. Economic development investments that reach people through better access to finance, improved market opportunities, and more transparent public systems.

The German Embassy stated that in a changing global context, the Nepal-Germany partnership continues to move forward with purpose, trust, and long-term investment across sectors that matter directly to Nepali people.
