Nepal is Committed to Fight Climate Change: PM Oli

Kathmandu: Prime Minister K. P. Sharma Oli delivered his remarks at the High-Level Thematic Round Table 3 during the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3), in Awaza, Turkmenistan.

“We are happy to see the efforts to establish a negotiating group for LLDCs in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to consolidate our voice,” said Prime Minister Oli. “Nepal is committed to fight climate change, to mitigate the risk, and to cope with its adverse impact.”

The round table was held on the theme “Enhancing adaptive capacity, strengthening resilience, and addressing vulnerability to climate change and disasters in landlocked developing countries.”

He further called for intensified and coordinated efforts to build resilience in LLDCs for sustainable development in the context of the increasing impact of climate change.
