Nepal Joins United Nations Annual Memorial Service

New York: Nepal joined the United Nations Annual Memorial Service to honor the memory of the 136 UN personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty in 2025 on June 9.

The Nepal Mission to the UN stated, “We remember their courage, dedication, and selfless service in the cause of peace, security, development, and humanitarian action.” The Mission also remembered Nepal’s Corporal Siraj Lamichhane of MINUSCA and Sundar Lal Chaudhary of WFP, whose service and sacrifice exemplified the highest ideals of the United Nations.

The Mission concluded that their legacy will continue to inspire collective commitment to a more peaceful and secure world.
