Nepal Participates in the 25th Session of the UNPFII2026

Kathmandu: Nepal took part in the 25th Session of the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII2026). Gyanendra Pun, Member Secretary of National Foundation for Development of Indigenous Nationalities, highlighted Nepal’s commitment to advancing the health, dignity, and rights of Indigenous Peoples, inclusive policies, recognition of 60 Indigenous communities, and targeted health initiatives, including support for vulnerable groups and improved access in remote and conflict-affected areas.

Secretary Pun underscored the integration of traditional knowledge with modern healthcare through Nepal’s “One Health Approach,” alongside efforts in mother-tongue education and social protection, ensuring dignity and wellbeing of all.
