Kathmandu: The Embassy of Nepal, alongside other embassies such as Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Vietnam, and Thailand, in collaboration with the Government of Punjab, hosted Vesak Day celebrations at Taxila.
Buddhist monks from Thailand and Sri Lanka graced the occasion with their presence. The Federal Minister for Heritage attended as the chief guest. The event highlighted the timeless teachings of Lord Buddha and underscored Pakistan’s rich tradition as a multi‑religious and culturally diverse society, where interfaith harmony and mutual respect are essential for a peaceful and progressive future. Rita Dhital, Ambassador of Nepal to Pakistan, welcomed participants followed by a video on Lumbini featuring marker stone, monasteries & master plan.
