Kathmandu: The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Kathmandu has appointed Subash Dhakal as its new Advisor for Energy, Climate and Food Security.
Dhakal brings over 15 years of experience in the development sector. Prior to joining the Embassy, he served as Energy Programme Manager at SNV Nepal for more than a decade. He had earlier worked with a regional centre of the Alternative Energy Promotion Centre (AEPC) under the Energy Sector Assistance Programme (ESAP).
He holds an engineering degree in Power and Control, along with a Master’s degree in Sociology and Anthropology. Dhakal also earned a proficiency certificate in Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency from the Technical University of Dresden, Germany. His professional experience includes energy access and planning, climate initiatives, enterprise development, institutional strengthening and grant management.
The Embassy said Dhakal looks forward to contributing to its work on improving energy access, strengthening livelihoods and building resilient communities in collaboration with government institutions and development partners.
