NTB Organizes the World Wellness Day Program in Kathmandu

Kathmandu: Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), in collaboration with Spa Association Nepal and other stakeholders, organized the World Wellness Day program in Kathmandu. This program brought together national and international experts, wellness practitioners, tourism professionals, and policymakers to discuss the future of wellness tourism in Nepal.

The event highlighted the growing global demand for wellness travel and Nepal’s unique strengths in yoga, meditation, Ayurveda, spa therapies, natural healing, and spiritual experiences. The discussions mainly focused on strengthening professional standards, skills development, certification systems, and positioning wellness as a high-value tourism product. The Board stated that as part of this vision, plans are underway to expand wellness studies through Diploma and Postgraduate programs at NATHM, helping build a skilled workforce for the sector.

Hon. Khadka Raj Paudel, Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, addressed the program where he shared the government’s commitment to developing Nepal as an international wellness tourism destination. He said, “Leveraging the country’s natural environment, spiritual heritage, and holistic lifestyle traditions, wellness tourism has the potential to diversify Nepal’s tourism offerings, attract quality visitors, generate employment, and contribute significantly to the national economy.”
