Kathmandu: Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli addressed the High-level Thematic Round Table 1 on “Structural Transformation, Diversification, and Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) as Drivers of Prosperity in Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs)” during the Third United Nations Conference on LLDCs held in Awaza, Turkmenistan, on Tuesday, August 5.
In his remarks, PM Oli underscored that for landlocked developing countries, structural transformation is not merely an option but a necessity. The Prime Minister further emphasized that through structural reforms, LLDCs can reposition themselves as dynamic hubs of growth, trade, innovation, and sustainable development. He called on the international community to foster cooperation and invest in science, technology, and innovation to help LLDCs overcome inherent geographical challenges and accelerate inclusive economic progress.
PM Oli’s address was part of Nepal’s active participation in the LLDC3 conference, where leaders and policymakers from around the world gathered to chart a transformative agenda for landlocked nations.
