President Paudel to Attend 2nd World Summit for Social Development in Qatar

Kathmandu: President Ramchandra Paudel will leave for Doha, Qatar on November 3 to attend the 2nd World Summit for Social Development, scheduled to take place from November 4 to 6.

The President is visiting Qatar at the invitation of Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and will lead a 12-member Nepali delegation, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the Summit, President Paudel and the Qatari Emir are also scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting. The President will return to Nepal on November 6.

The Summit, being organized in line with a UN General Assembly decision, comes 30 years after the first World Summit for Social Development held in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 1995.

The global conference will bring together world leaders to discuss key social challenges, including inequality, demographic changes, and the impact of technology on societies, and is expected to adopt a joint resolution to enhance international cooperation on social development.
