Return of the Vice President from Qatar

Kathmandu: The Rt. Hon. Vice President, Ramsahay Prasad Yadav, returned to Nepal upon the completion of a three-day official visit to Qatar on July 16. 

During the visit, the Vice President called on His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, at Lusail Palace in Lusail City and handed over a ‘Letter of Condolence’ from the Rt. Hon. President of Nepal, Ramchandra Paudel, on the passing away of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Father Amir of the State of Qatar, who passed away on 12 July 2026.

Following the handover of the letter, Vice President Yadav held a brief conversation with His Highness the Amir. During the meeting, the Vice President paid tribute to the late Father Amir’s visionary leadership and his invaluable contributions to the modernisation and development of the State of Qatar, as well as to the strengthening of the longstanding bilateral relations between Nepal and the State of Qatar. He also conveyed, on behalf of the Government and people of Nepal, his deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to His Highness the Amir, the Royal Family, the Government, and the people of the State of Qatar on this profound loss.

Vice President Yadav was welcomed by Hon. Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal, Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai, and other senior officials upon his arrival. 

The Vice President was accompanied by senior officials from the Office of the Vice President and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as the Charge d’Affaires and other officials of the Embassy of Nepal in Doha.
