Kathmandu: A special gathering was held in the presence of Sadhguru at ‘The Plaza’ in Pulchowk, Lalitpur, to express solidarity with Nepal and offer heartfelt condolences to those affected by the devastating flash floods along the Nepal-Tibet border. The event served as a platform to honor those who lost their lives and to pledge collective support for the nation during this hour of crisis.
The program was attended by distinguished guests, including acclaimed actress Manisha Koirala, Acting Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Sunita Dangol, and Mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City Chiribabu Maharjan, alongside over 3,000 participants.
Addressing the gathering, Manisha Koirala expressed profound grief over the recurring natural disasters Nepal has had to face. She emphasized that Nepal, India, and China must stand united to address the formidable and global challenge of climate change.
Sadhguru remarked that the entire burden of a disaster of this magnitude should not be placed solely on the Government of Nepal; instead, the global community and international organizations must work collectively. He highlighted that to address the rising risks of climate change, it is imperative for Nepal and its neighboring nations to look beyond borders and manage the Himalayan regions as a “single entity” He further advised against rushed and haphazard reconstruction, suggesting instead that a team of experts be formed to deliberate on scientific and sustainable restoration to minimize future damage.
At the conclusion of the event, Sadhguru announced a contribution of NPR 10 million (one crore) from his foundation, Isha Nepal, to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund. He also expressed his unwavering commitment to providing further assistance and support in the days ahead.
