SpiceJet to Double Delhi-Kathmandu Flights from September

The decision comes in response to strong passenger demand.

KATHMANDU: Indian low-cost airline SpiceJet is set to double its flights on the Delhi-Kathmandu route, increasing from the current seven flights per week to 14, starting this September.

Sangeeta Rauniyar, CEO of Himalayan Global Travel Services, the airline’s General Sales Agent in Nepal, said the decision comes in response to strong passenger demand.

“Passenger occupancy in both directions has now crossed 80 percent, which is an excellent figure, especially during the off-season,” Rauniyar said.. “We have already begun preparations for the upcoming travel season.”

SpiceJet resumed operations on the Delhi-Kathmandu route after a six-year hiatus. The airline currently serves 60 domestic and 13 international destinations.
