Kathmandu: The Embassy of Sri Lanka celebrated International Tea Day 2026 at the Official Residence on May 21. The event was celebrated under the theme “159 Years of Excellence in Ceylon Tea,” showcasing teas from 7 regions.
The event showcased Sri Lanka’s world-renowned tea heritage through an immersive presentation and tasting of teas from all seven tea-growing regions, a curated selection of premium tea grades and specialty teas, along with authentic Sri Lankan cuisine as well as Ceylon tea-based mocktails.
The event brought together distinguished representatives from the government of Nepal, tea and business sector stakeholders, together with other distinguished guests to commemorate the enduring legacy and global reputation of Ceylon Tea.
