Kathmandu: Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to Nepal, Ruwanthi Delpitiya, participated in a special Paritran Chanting ceremony held at Buddha Vihara on Exhibition Road, Kathmandu, on December 2.
The event, attended by devotees and members of the Buddhist clergy, featured the participation of Ven. Hapugoda Subodha Thero from Sri Lanka. During the ceremony, the Chief Incumbent of Buddha Vihara, Ven. Kondanya Mahasthavir, offered his blessings and expressed deep sympathy for the lives lost in the recent disaster in Sri Lanka. He, along with the Buddhist Sangha, prayed for the recovery, well-being, and peace of all those affected.
Highlighting the shared spiritual heritage of the two nations, the programme underscored how Buddhism has long served as a cultural and religious bridge between Sri Lanka and Nepal, strengthening longstanding people-to-people ties.
Ambassador Delpitiya was accompanied by her Personal Assistant, Kritika Dahal, and Attaché Kokila Karunarathne.
