Kathmandu: The Embassy of Switzerland, with the Nepal Mountaineering Association, celebrated the platinum jubilee of the first ascent of Lhotse with the opening of the ‘Lhotse Exhibition’ in Nepal Tourism Board which started on May 22 and continue till May 29. The exhibition showcased stunning photographs from the Swiss Himalayan Expedition 70 years ago.
The summiting of Lhotse symbolically stands at the beginning of the 70 years of Switzerland – Nepal bilateral relationships, which we are also celebrating this year. The exhibition was also made possible with the Alpines Museum der Schweiz and the Swiss Foundation for Alpine Research.
