UAE Ambassador Calls on Vice President Yadav

Kathmandu: Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Nepal, Saeed Mubarak Jarwan Al Shamsi, paid a courtesy call on Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav at the Vice President’s Office on November 20.

According to the Secretariat of the Vice President, the meeting covered discussions on bilateral relations, high-level visits, labour issues, and economic and multilateral cooperation.

Vice President Yadav noted that relations between Nepal and the UAE have progressed on the basis of mutual trust, friendship, and cooperation since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1977. He also extended gratitude to the UAE government for granting amnesty to 286 Nepali citizens during Ramadan this year.

Highlighting the potential for deeper economic collaboration, Vice President Yadav said that Nepal and the UAE could expand cooperation in infrastructure, agriculture, healthcare, clean energy, tourism, and drinking water.

On the occasion, Ambassador Al Shamsi recalled the visit of the UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister to Nepal in 2025, describing it as a significant milestone in bilateral relations. He also stated that the UAE government is prepared to establish a skill development centre in Nepal for Nepali workers and is willing to enhance cooperation in energy, technology, and other sectors.
