UK Ambassador Fenn Holds Courtesy Meeting with Education Minister Pokharel

Kathmandu: Rob Fenn, Ambassador of the UK to Nepal, held a courtesy meeting with Sasmit Pokharel, the Minister of Education, Science, and Technology on April 15.

In the meeting held at the ministry in Singhdarbar, there was a discussion about cooperation in the field of education and sports of Nepal. In addition, the discussion focused on the historical bilateral relations, cooperation and mutual cooperation between Nepal and the UK. They also talked about continuing the support and cooperation from the UK government in the field of education. 

Minister Pokharel and Ambassador Fen have also held consultations regarding cooperation for the autism school that the Nepal government is going to operate in all seven provinces, and the professional capacity development of teachers.

During the meeting, Minister Pokharel, who was also the spokesperson of the Nepal government, expected the continued support of the UK government in matters such as the improvement of the education sector and the development of teachers’ capacity. In addition, Minister Pokharel expressed his belief that there will be necessary support for Ajitam School in terms of resource and manpower development and professional capacity development of teachers.

Ambassador Fenn said that the UK government is eager for the cooperation and cooperation that has been done in the past in Nepal’s educational and sports fields as well as in other fields.

In that meeting, an agreement was reached regarding the mutual interest and strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries. Likewise, there was a conversation about cooperation in teacher capacity development and the possibility of transnational education in Nepal.
