UN Women Welcomes 26 grassroots Women’s Rights Organizations

Kathmandu: At UN Women Nepal, advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment begins with investing in the organizations working closest to women, girls and marginalized communities that drive sustainable and transformative change.

From 29–30 June, UN Women Nepal convened Sahayatra, Empowering Partnerships, bringing together their programme partners to strengthen collaboration, and institutional capacities, Results-Based Management, financial accountability, safeguarding, and strategic communications. Building on this momentum, from 1–2 July, UN Women Nepal welcomed 26 grassroots Women’s Rights Organizations under the Hamro Sahas Programme for a review and co-creation workshop focused on reflection, peer learning, and shaping the way forward together.

Civil society organizations and women’s rights organizations are at the forefront of advancing girls and women’s rights, challenging discriminatory social norms, responding to gender-based violence, promoting women’s leadership, women’s empowerment, and ensuring that no woman or girl is left behind.

Together, UN Women Nepal continues to build a stronger feminist movement and accelerate progress towards a more equal Nepal.
