Kathmandu: Panasonic, one of the world’s leading electronics company, has partnered with UNFPA in Nepal to support remote disaster-affected communities of Jajarkot and Rautahat, by donating Panasonic solar lanterns.
UNFPA stated that These will be installed across health facilities in the two districts reaching about 47,898 people each year, so that pregnant and lactating mothers and new-borns are safe even during lights-out or other disruptions to electricity.
This partnership complements the Government of Japan funded IMPACT project, and is a part of the LIGHT UP THE FUTURE, Panasonic Group’s global programme to deliver light to people living without access to electricity.
