Kathmandu: Sariram Haridass, UNFPA Representative of Nepal, met with Dr. Kamal Prasad Pokhrel, Chief Statistician of the National Statistics Office (NSO). They discussed strengthening the national statistical system and evidence-based decision-making.
Together, UNFPA and NSO are prioritizing advanced roadmap planning for a modernized, digital census, capacity building for young statisticians in data science and AI, and stronger data integration across systems.
UNFPA stated that they are committed to a future in Nepal where high quality population data is the foundation for inclusive development so that no one is left behind.
