Kathmandu: The U.S. Embassy’s Office of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), in partnership with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), has handed over Drug and Precursor Field Test Kits to Nepal’s Department of Customs. The handover took place through the UNODC’s Passenger and Cargo Control Programme.
These test kits will enhance Nepal’s capacity to detect and intercept illicit narcotics at entry points. Designed for rapid, on-the-spot identification of suspected drugs, the kits will enable quicker and more effective law enforcement action, ultimately helping to safeguard communities from drug-related harm.
The United States reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Nepal’s efforts to strengthen law enforcement and counter drug trafficking. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to disrupt global synthetic drug supply chains and promote safety across the region.
