Kathmandu: The U.S. Embassy in Kathmandu, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Justice’s OPDAT program, organized a workshop for Nepali prosecutors, investigators, and officials from the Department of Homeland Security to address trafficking in persons and migrant smuggling.
Speaking at the event, the Chargé d’Affaires, Jason Meeks, highlighted that trafficking is “a transnational organized crime that demands a coordinated response.”
The U.S. Embassy reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening U.S.–Nepal cooperation in the fight against trafficking and related crimes.
