Kathmandu: Rt. Hon. Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav handed over a condolence letter sent by President Ramchandra Paudel over the demise of former Amir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
Vice President Yadav reached the Lusail Palace in the city of Lusail, Qatar today and handed over the condolence letter to Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
On the occasion, the Vice President extended his condolences to the Amir, the royal family, the government of Qatar and the people of Qatar, according to the Nepali Embassy in Doha, Qatar.
Paying tributes to the former Amir, Vice President Yadav recalled his significant contribution to the development and prosperity of Qatar and the important role he played in building a strong foundation for the excellent bilateral relations between Nepal and Qatar.
In addition, Vice President Yadav expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Government of Qatar for taking proper care and protection of the Nepali community during the recent conflict in West Asia.
On the occasion, Amir Thani expressed his gratitude for the sympathy and solidarity expressed by the Government of Nepal and the Nepali people and thanked Vice President Yadav for visiting with a message of condolences at this time of grief.
Vice President Yadav was accompanied by senior officials from the Office of the Vice President, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Charge d’Affaires of the Nepali Embassy in Doha, and other officials.
Vice President Yadav had left for Qatar on July 14 to extend condolences on behalf of the Government of Nepal. He is scheduled to return home tomorrow, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
