Kathmandu: A book titled ‘Sumadhur Sambandhaka 70 Sal’ (roughly translated as Harmonious Relations of 70 Years) has been published to mark the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Nepal and China. The book was released by the Nepal-China Media Forum and is written in both Nepali and Chinese.
The book contains 12 chapters, covering Nepal-China relations from historical to modern times. It highlights the multidimensional aspects of the relationship between the two countries. Additionally, it discusses the era of Chinese President Xi Jinping and the strengthening of ties with Nepal. The book also includes important and historical photographs showcasing Nepal-China relations and high-level diplomatic exchanges.
In his message for the book, China’s Ambassador to Nepal, Chen Song, stated that the publication coincides with the historic 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two nations. “It serves not only as a summary of the fruitful achievements of the past, but also as a vision for future cooperation,” his statement reads. “Standing at the intersection of a new era, we are more convinced than ever that the relationship between China and Nepal is not just a diplomatic bond, but a heartfelt connection deeply rooted in the people of both nations.”
President of the Nepal-China Media Forum, Kishor Shrestha, wrote that since the establishment of diplomatic relations on August 1, 1955, Nepal and China have maintained relations without major issues. “It might be our good fortune that we are celebrating 70 years of bilateral relations this year,” he added. Shrestha also mentioned that the book captures various dimensions of Nepal-China ties and reflects on 70 years of unforgettable moments.
