Kathmandu: The Nepal Association of Foreign Employment Agencies (NAFEA) on September 5 reiterated its call on international employers, business partners and clients to support families affected by floods in Nepal.
“Our clients and employers have benefited from the hard labor of Nepali people in their respective countries. Thus, it is a moral obligation for them to support the country whose hardworking population has actually sustained their businesses and enterprises,” said NAFEA President Dik Bahadur Khatri. “We want all actors associated with Nepal’s foreign employment sector to contribute while the nation is bleeding in tears,” he said.
NAFEA has already contributed Rs 15 million to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund. NAFEA President Khatri and other NAFEA members handed over the cheque to Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle on August 31.
On August 28, NAFEA had issued an appeal to international employers, business partners and clients to support Nepal. In its statement, NAFEA said the country was facing a severe flood disaster that had caused significant loss, displacement and hardship to thousands of families and communities across various parts of the country.
“In this difficult situation, the Nepal Association of Foreign Employment Agencies (NAFEA) respectfully appeals to our esteemed international employers, business partners and clients to extend their solidarity and support by making a direct contribution to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund of Nepal,” the statement said.
“Your contribution, regardless of its amount, can make a meaningful difference in providing immediate relief and supporting rehabilitation efforts for families affected by the floods. Your support at this critical time will go beyond our professional relationship and represent a valuable gesture of humanitarian solidarity with Nepal and its people.”
NAFEA urged all concerned parties to consider the appeal positively and stand with affected families who are in urgent need of assistance.
“We deeply appreciate your compassion, solidarity and continued partnership with Nepal. Thank you for standing with Nepal in this difficult hour,” NAFEA said in its appeal.
