Kathmandu: Minister for Home Affairs Om Prakash Aryal received a courtesy call from United States Chargé d’Affaires Scott Urbom at the Ministry of Home Affairs on 26 January.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the latest political developments in Nepal, the upcoming elections, and the support and assistance provided by the United States to Nepal.
Minister Aryal said the government is working intensively to maintain peace and security during the House of Representatives elections scheduled for Falgun 21, and to ensure that the polls are conducted in a free, fair, and fear-free environment.
Ambassador Arbam reaffirmed that the longstanding friendly relations between Nepal and the United States would continue and further deepen in the days ahead.
