Nepal and Montenegro established diplomatic relations on July 18, 2011. Their relationship is based on goodwill, friendship, and mutual understanding. Although trade, investment, and development cooperation remain minimal, both countries have cooperated in international forums such as the United Nations, particularly on common issues like climate change.
Nepal’s Ambassador to Austria is concurrently accredited to Montenegro, reflecting the current diplomatic arrangement. There are prospects to explore niche areas for mutual benefit, and political consultations have been initiated to strengthen bilateral ties further.
