Kathmandu: Hon. Minister For Foreign Affairs Shisir Khanal received a telephone call from the US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Allison Hooker on August 27.
During the call, Under Secretary Hooker conveyed sincere condolences of the US Government on the loss of lives and property caused by the devastating flash flood on August 26. Under Secretary Hooker expressed support and solidarity of the US Government in helping Nepal cope with the situation, and rescuing missing individuals, including US nationals.
Minister Khanal highlighted the ongoing search and rescue efforts being carried out by the Government and expressed his sincere thanks for the US Government’s offer to support Nepal at this difficult time. He added that the Government of Nepal is utilising all resources at its disposal for the search, rescue and relief efforts for those affected.
