Former President of Nepal Bhandari Meets CPC’s IDCPC Head Liu in Beijing

Former President Bhandari addressed a dialogue conference with political parties from neighboring countries.

Kathmandu: During a ten-day visit to China, Nepal’s Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari met Liu Jianchao, head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC), in Beijing on May 26.

According to a member who participated in the meeting in Beijing, the Chinese leader Liu encouraged unity and cooperation between leftist parties in Nepal, which the northern neighbour has been advocating for over a decade. The meeting between Bhandari and Liu was around 1 hour.

Moreover, former President Bhandari addressed a dialogue conference with political parties from neighboring countries, which was organized by the CPC IDCP in Beijing on the same day. During her address, Bhandari stated that the context of the people’s multi-party democracy propounded by the late (Madan) Bhandari, to the current “Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali” implemented by Prime Minister and UML Chairman KP Oli. She also said that there is a relationship between the UML and the CPC in terms of thought, behavior, and strategic relations.
