Kathmandu: Gyan Bahadur Magar, Deputy Permanent Representative of Nepal to the United Nations, spoke on behalf of LDC Group at the UNDP-UNFPA-UNOPS Executive Board Session on UNCDF. He drew the attention to severe financing constraints in LDCs and highlighted UNCDF’s unique contribution to advancing SDGs through catalytic, first-loss finance, local development investment, financial inclusion, and digital transformation in those nations further behind.
DPR Magar further recognized UNCDF’s efforts to de-risk lending, support subnational governments and mobilize private capital for MSMEs including women-led enterprises, and called on Member states to harness its comparative advantages to deliver on Seville Commitment and DPOA priorities.
