ILO, FAO, and FNCCI Assess Opportunities for Women Entrepreneurs in Agriculture in Madhesh

KATHMANDU: In a joint effort to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment, the International Labour Organization (ILO) Nepal, in collaboration with the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), conducted an assessment of opportunities and challenges faced by women entrepreneurs in the agriculture sector in Madhesh Province.

The initiative is part of the EU-UN Empower Women, Power Nations (EWPN) program, which aims to support rural women in building sustainable livelihoods.

Findings from the assessment will help design targeted support programs for new and aspiring women entrepreneurs, contributing to inclusive economic growth and rural development in the region.
