In a coordinated effort to strengthen Nepal’s high-value agricultural sectors and enhance their national and international potential, Amb. Dr. Sarmila Parajuli Dhakal, President of International Relations & Global Diplomacy Dialogue, spearheaded a series of strategic consultations focusing on the country’s premier spice industries on May 26, 2026.
Amb. Dr. Parajuli Dhakal hosted a meeting with Mr. Narendra Kumar Khadka, President of the Nepal Ginger Producers and Traders Association, at the IRGDD premises in Kathmandu.
During the session, she emphasized that unlocking the true economic value of indigenous resources such as ginger requires proactive economic diplomacy, and trade partnerships. Mr. Khadka also shared perspectives on the current situation of the ginger sector and highlighted the need for continued support, advocacy, policy coordination, and collaboration among relevant stakeholders.
Expanding the scope of IRGDD’s agricultural diplomacy initiative, Amb. Dr. Parajuli Dhakal subsequently held a virtual meeting with Mr. Nirmal Bhattarai, Immediate Past President (IPP) of the Federation of Large Cardamom Entrepreneurs Nepal. The discussion focused on the current market situation of large cardamom, and opportunities for strengthening and developing Nepal’s agro sector.
These consultations underscore a unified effort to bridge gaps in policy dialogue, advocacy, stakeholder coordination, and value chain development, while fostering joint initiatives and broader cooperation through IRGDD’s platform to strengthen Nepal’s agricultural sector, support economic development, and better position Nepalese products in regional and international markets.
