Kathmandu: Nepal and China have signed the implementation agreement for the second phase of the Kathmandu Ring Road Improvement Project, marking a significant step forward in bilateral infrastructure cooperation on April 29.
The agreement was signed during a meeting between Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Zhang Maoming, and Nepal’s Minister for Physical Infrastructure, Transport and Urban Development, Sunil Lamsal, in Kathmandu on Tuesday.
The project, supported under China Aid, aims to further upgrade and expand the Kathmandu Ring Road, a key urban roadway that encircles the capital and plays a crucial role in easing traffic congestion and improving connectivity.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Zhang expressed optimism about the continued progress of Nepal-China cooperation, stating that he looks forward to achieving new milestones through joint efforts.
The second phase of the project is expected to build on the progress made in the initial phase, contributing to improved urban mobility and infrastructure development in the Kathmandu Valley.
