Kathmandu: Mayors from various municipalities of Nepal visited Magen David Adom (MDA) facilities in Ramla and Jerusalem as part of the MuniExpo conference 2026, organized in cooperation between the Public Diplomacy Division of Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Magen David Adom. MUNI Expo 2026, Israel’s premier conference and innovation exhibition for the municipal sector, took place from 23-24 June 2026.
The Nepali delegation included Mr. Dhana Raj Acharya, Mayor of Pokhara Metropolitan City; Ms. Sunita Dangol, Acting Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City; and Mr. Manoj Kumar Sah Sudi, Mayor of Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City. Also participating were Mr. Nabin Manandhar, Spokesperson of Kathmandu Metropolitan City and Chairperson of KMC Ward-17, and Mr. Prem Thapa, Chairperson of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Ward 3.
The delegation toured MDA’s National Headquarters and Operations Center, new state-of-the-art National Blood Services Center, National Human Milk Bank, MDA Paramedic School, and National Emergency Dispatch Center. advanced emergency response vehicles. They learned about Israel’s emergency preparedness, disaster response, and MDA’s life-saving work during routine operations and emergencies. The mayors were introduced to MDA’s unique and specialized emergency vehicles and technologies.
MDA Director General Eli Bin said: “We were delighted to host mayors from Nepal, Panama and Chile to Magen David Adom, Israel’s National Emergency Medical, Disaster, Ambulance and Blood Service organization and provide them with an overview of MDA’s activities, to discuss shared challenges and potential areas for cooperation, and share some of the extensive operational knowledge we have accumulated at MDA. I thank the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for its efforts and for this important initiative to strengthen the relationship between MDA and the international community. In addition to the advanced life-saving technologies and capabilities, the mayors were exposed to the human diversity within Magen David Adom, which unites all sectors of Israeli society in the shared mission of saving lives.”
The visit provided an opportunity to exchange knowledge, discuss shared challenges, and strengthen international cooperation in emergency medical services and disaster preparedness.
