Kathmandu: The Norwegian Embassy has announced an additional allocation of NOK 50 million to the second phase of the Provincial and Local Governance Strengthening Program (PLGSP). The program, led by the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, will run until July 2029 and was formally signed with the Government of Nepal on November 23.
The new investment aims to support good governance, strengthen democratic institutions and improve inclusive and efficient public service delivery. PLGSP plays an important role in supporting Nepal’s federal governance system by fostering collaboration among all levels of government.
Norway, along with other development partners, aims to strengthen institutional frameworks, build capacity and promote transparency and accountability through the program. Officials say the support reflects a shared commitment to building a governance system that benefits all citizens.
