Kathmandu: Swiss Ambassador Dr. Danielle Meuwly met officials from the Nepal Mountaineering Association to discuss preparations for the 70th anniversary of the first successful ascent of Mount Lhotse by Swiss climbers Fritz Luchsinger and Ernst Reiss.
The meeting also marked 70 years of diplomatic relations between Switzerland and Nepal. Both sides discussed possible commemorative events and cooperation in mountaineering and tourism to celebrate the historic achievement and long-standing friendship between the two countries.
