Kathmandu: Ambassador of Switzerland to Nepal, H.E. Danielle Meuwly attended the launch of the Joint United Nations Mental Health Support Programme, reaffirming Switzerland’s commitment to supporting Nepal’s efforts to strengthen mental health and psychosocial support services.
Ambassador Meuwly emphasized that mental health is not only a health concern, but also a human rights, development, and social cohesion issue. She highlighted the importance of investing in community-based services, strengthening national systems, and ensuring that quality mental health support is accessible to all, particularly women, young people, and marginalized communities.
She further stated Switzerland remains a committed partner in building inclusive, resilient, and sustainable systems that promote wellbeing, strengthen human potential, and contribute to the country’s long-term development.
