Kathmandu: Hon. Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal expressed deep sorrow over the death of King Harald V of Norway and expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved royal family and the Norwegian people. Minister Khanal visited the Norwegian Embassy in Lalitpur and wrote a condolence message in the condolence book on September 1. On behalf of the Government of Nepal and the Nepali people, as well as on his own behalf, Minister Khanal expressed his heartfelt condolences on the death of King Harald V.
Minister Khanal remembered King Harald V as a “rich monarch with a dignified and simple personality” and mentioned that wisdom, humility, compassion and unwavering devotion to duty were reflected in his long-term dedicated service to Norway.
“His firm commitment to peace, dialogue, tolerance and mutual understanding has left a legacy that will be remembered long beyond his reign,” Minister Khanal mentioned in the condolence book. He said that King Harald V’s contribution to enhancing friendship and cooperation with the international community while representing Norway with dignity will always be remembered.
“His contribution to strengthen friendship and cooperation by representing Norway with dignity before the international community will always be remembered,” Minister Khanal mentioned. Minister Khanal expressed his deepest condolences to the bereaved Norwegian royal family and the entire Norwegian people, and expressed his belief that the ideals of the late King Harald V will continue to provide strength and inspiration to all who are mourning. Minister Khanal mentioned in the message, “At this time of grave sorrow and national grief, the government of Nepal and the people of Nepal stand with the government of Norway and the people of Norway.”
